Winalife Venture
RestPay is the first in Poland payment wallet for restaurants. It allows restaurant guests to pay for a meal without waiting for a waiter.
The Winalife team built the entire product from scratch, including research, branding, UX/UI design, as well as, product and website development.
RestPay is built with PWA technology that allows the user to open the application in the browser without spending time and budget on Google or Apple app stores.
RestPay was born in the minds of future business partners, Tomek and Marcin, as a response to the common inconvenience people have when dining out with friends: having to split the bill among several people or waiting for a long time till the order will be taken.
It was then that they made the decision to join forces and create an app that would address this issue. This is how the first concept of the RestPay app came about.
After preparing the MVP, the newly formed team set off to conquer the world. When looking for the first customers, Tomek submitted the project to a competition organised by the EIT, thanks to which the startup gained its first funding.
The concept might look easy, yet there were a few challenges to overcome.
It is never easy to integrate with closed systems. This requires business-level talks first, then technology comes into play.
In order to fill the app with relevant content, we had to ask restaurants to share their menus and then upload them into the application. As you may suspect, restaurant owners and managers are rather busy people.
We needed to prepare table stands with a QR code so that customers could interact with our app while visiting the restaurant. The design had to be universal but on the other hand not brutal, to ensure every restaurant could use it.

We set a high goal for ourselves to obtain 100 restaurants in a year.
We wanted to expand the reach as much as possible in the beginning.
To grow and scale faster, we needed a seed investment.
This is just the beginning and we know it.
It was not easy, but we managed. Check our achievements!
This was a real milestone for the Restimo startup as a whole. This event opened a lot of doors for us and proved that we can deliver and turn ideas into real business.
Another milestone that helped us big time. As participants, we received extra coins to use AWS infrastructure almost for free. It also gave us bigger recognition in the startup market.
We work quickly, efficiently and fully transparent with the client when it comes to communication.

Winalife had done a tremendous job for RestHub. Not only had they developed the whole app, which is very user-friendly and efficient, but also provided us with support on the business side.
